THEATRE

None,

Theatre is a flexible course which changes shape from year to year. It is designed for any student willing to learn something about drama, not just for budding actors. This year theater has not been offered as a credit course, but as a supplement to MS English and to HS ESL. Each year students learn some of the following skills and subjects:

Improvisation, acting, ensemble work,

monologues, mime, concentration, focus, good

audience behavior, theatre, production work,

directing techniques, script editing, scene

writing, set and costume design.

Class time is used for practicing/learning a selection of the above. Once a play has been chosen and rehearsals have started, students outside of the class are invited or audition to join the production. After school rehearsal time is used for the play. Class time in the final months is used for a combination of above skill learning and production work and for rehearsals of those scenes in which the class members are involved.
